The curtains of the Nepali amphitheatre were removed for the retreat of international tourists just 50 years ago. With that said, Nepal Tourism does not actually have a hoary history. But in this short span of time, Nepal has emerged as one of the most favored tourist destinations in the world. This country goes well with the saying, “all good things come in small packages”. This tiny state is blessed with uncommon natural beauty, multifarious topography, diverse culture and abounds many histo-cultural landmarks & monuments. In Kathmandu, the old artistic palaces, temples, statues, monuments and museums have sheer prominence. Each of these sites hauls a special significance and a prudent history. The Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square in Kathmandu is a symbol of glory. Patan Durbar Square is an epitome of ancient art and architecture. The city of Bhaktapur is known as 'Florence of the East'. Other sites worth visiting in Kathmandu valley are the Pashupatinath temple (the most revered Hindu shrine), Boudhanath (the greatest stupa), Swayambhunath (the renowned Buddhist shrine) and the 5th century Changu Narayan temple. These sites have been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
It’s not just Kathmandu that has all the attractions. Many other cities of Nepal radiate interesting histories and religious significance. Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, referred as the "Light of Asia" and Janakpur Dham, the birthplace of Sita (the wife of Lord Ram who is the central figure in the epic of "Ramayana") are flocked with visitors throughout the year. Places like Tansen and Devghat accentuate the marvels of culture and heritage. Other popular tourist spots include the Royal Chitwan National Park, Pokhara - the lake city, Nagarkot and Dhulikhel. Interesting festivals and hilarious Jatras further add sparkling reasons as to why Nepal is a place to be visited at least once in a lifetime.
Come and witness the blend of nature, culture and history. Besides the guaranteed informative funtertainment, there’s one more thing that is guaranteed, it’s you uttering “WOW!!
