Marron 17 Days: Yala Peak

Marron's Yala Peak adventure trip begins with the 6-7 hours drive after Dhunche. In the beginning, we trek through sub-tropical jungle and then the dense forest with oak trees, birch and pine before the valley opens out into the alpine meadows and yak pasture. These high meadows are carpeted by rich variety of alpine flowers such as gentials, violets, edelweiss and primulas in the spring. The Lantang forest is also known for its wildlife such as red pandas, Himalayan black bear, and wild board and langur monkeys. We trek up to the valley Kyangjin and we set up our camp in superb setting there. From Kyangjin, we move further up the valley to Yala, a small yearsa, a summer hamlet. Here you get the time to walk to the top of the Tsergo Ri which is the highest point on a broad flat plateau. The views from here are as spectacular as anywhere in the Himalayan region. The panoramic view of the snow capped Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo peaks. Yala peak is one of the shortest periods climbing in Nepal.
